How can we help?
The people who build Calobook answer support themselves. Most questions below have a quick answer; for anything else, write to us and we will reply within two business days.
Email us
Include the email on your Calobook account, your device model and iOS version, and a screenshot if you have one.
Scanning and your plan
The photo scan says it could not find a meal
The AI only answers when it can clearly see food. Try again with more light, the whole plate in frame and the camera held level above the dish. Glare, very dark photos and photos of packaging (rather than the nutrition label) are the usual causes. If a photo keeps failing, switch to Food label or Manual and type the values in.
A barcode is "not in our food database yet"
Calobook looks the barcode up with fatsecret first and then with Open Food Facts. Regional or very new products are sometimes missing from both. Use Food label mode to photograph the nutrition facts panel instead, or enter the values by hand. Every value can be edited before you save.
The nutrition numbers look wrong
Photo estimates describe the portion the model can see, so a hidden second layer, a sauce or a large plate can throw them off. Tap any value on the review screen to correct it before saving, and adjust the number of servings if you ate more or less than one portion. Over a week, your check-in uses your weight trend rather than individual meals, so small errors wash out.
What is the fit score based on?
Each meal is judged against your goal, your daily targets, and the conditions, allergies and diet you entered during setup. A flag such as "high sodium for your blood pressure" comes from those answers. The score is nutrition guidance, not medical advice; if your doctor has given you specific limits, follow them.
My daily target changed after the weekly check-in
That is the plan working. Every week your burn is measured from the calories you logged and how your weight moved, then blended into the running estimate. The check-in screen lists every reason for the change. To get an accurate measurement, log complete food days and weigh in three or more times a week under the same conditions.
My steps from Apple Health stay at zero
Open the Health app, tap your picture, then Apps, then Calobook, and make sure Steps is allowed. Back in Calobook, open Profile, Track steps with Apple Health, and tap Sync now. Calobook only reads steps and never writes to Apple Health, so nothing in your Health data changes.
I am not getting reminders
Reminders are calculated from what you logged, so they stay quiet when you are on track, during your quiet hours, and once you hit your daily limit. Check Profile, Notifications for the schedule, and make sure notifications for Calobook are allowed in iOS Settings. Times follow the time zone of the device you used last.
Can I change my answers or my goal?
Yes. Open Profile, Edit plan and goals, change any answer, then tap Update my plan. Your plan is rebuilt from the updated answers the same way your first plan was made, and your history is kept.
Subscription and billing
How does the free trial work?
New members get 7 days of Calobook Pro with nothing charged up front. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription you chose starts automatically and Apple charges the price shown when you started. We send a reminder on day 5 if notifications are allowed. Full details are in section 6 of the Terms of Service.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancelling happens in your Apple account. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Calobook and tap Cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app or your Calobook account does not cancel the subscription.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are decided by Apple under its policy. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Calobook charge and choose a reason. If you live in the EEA or the UK you may have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal, which Apple honours through the same process. We cannot issue refunds directly because we never receive your payment.
I paid but the app says I am not subscribed
Open Profile and tap Restore purchases, or use Restore on the subscription screen. Make sure you are signed in to the Calobook account you used when you subscribed, and that your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still does not work, email us with the receipt from Apple and the email on your Calobook account.
Why is the price different from the website?
The website shows indicative prices in US dollars. Apple sets local prices per country and adds tax where required, so the exact amount is always the one shown in the App and on the App Store confirmation sheet before you buy.
Can I share my subscription with family?
A Calobook Pro subscription unlocks one Calobook account, because the plan inside it is built around one body. Each person needs their own account and subscription.
Account and data
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap Forgot password. We send a reset link to that address. If you signed up with Apple or Google, there is no Calobook password: use the same Sign in with Apple or Google button instead.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Email support@calobook.app from the address on your account with the subject "Data export" and we will send you a machine-readable copy (JSON) of your profile, plan and logs within 30 days.
How do I delete my account?
In the App, open Profile and tap Delete account, then confirm. If you never subscribed, the same option is at the bottom of the subscription screen. Deletion is immediate and removes every record linked to your account. Step-by-step instructions and the email alternative are on the Delete your account page.
How do I turn off analytics?
Open Profile and switch off Share usage analytics. The App stops sending usage events from that device. Everything else keeps working exactly the same.
Where is my data stored, and who can see it?
Your account data is stored with our hosting provider in the United States, and every table is locked so only the signed-in owner can read or change their rows. Meal photos are analysed and not stored. The full list of providers, what each receives and why is in the Privacy Policy.
Is Calobook available on Android?
Calobook launches first on iPhone. An Android version, with Health Connect step syncing, is planned to follow.
